Windermere Agent Matt Sneyd

I am a native of Salt Lake with family roots from all over Canada. I attended the University of Utah’s School of Business while embarking on my career in Real Estate in early 2006. At 19, I created a real estate investment business and start buying and selling houses. In 2008, I obtained my real estate license and took on the challenge of making short sales part of my main business model. From August 2009 until December 2010 I was responsible for real estate sales totaling $9,326,000 coming from 42 transaction sides.

I feel I really understand the local Salt Lake real estate market. I have been lucky enough to have seen the market at its best and worse. I feel that seeing both sides of the spectrum has given me the opportunity to see the cup half full rather than half empty. I strive for integrity within my business and personal life.

I believe in “copying genius, not creating mediocrity” and have learned the real estate business from the best. I have attended residential and commercial real estate seminars, boot camps, mentoring and coaching programs by Ron Legrand, Richard Roop, Karen Hanover, Greg Clement, J.T. Foxx, Chris McLaughlin and Than Merrill from the hit TV show “Flip This House” among others. I also make sure to constantly attend continuing education events all over the country on a regular basis, which helps me keep on top of the latest trends in the business.

I serve on the Board of the Salt Lake Real Estate Investors Association (SLREIA). I am also a member of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors “Young Professionals Network” so that I can be on the forefront of what’s happening with Salt Lake’s real estate market while also being able to network throughout the industry.

In the past few years I have remodeled over 18 homes with projects ranging from $5,000 to over $100,000 in remodeling costs. I have had the opportunity to learn about the remodel process from a hands-on point of view. I have done everything from hammering away at a property, to painting, to making home depot runs and now managing the project mostly from my office by outsourcing and delegating the processes to my amazing team. This has given me an invaluable insight into what to look for in a home and I am able estimate repairs costs of a home in about 15 minutes and my estimate usually is accurate to within a few hundred dollars of the actual costs. During that time I also bought more than 15 homes that I sold to wholesale/ investor buyers. I have also worked on more than 50 short sales in the last 2 years.

My personal and business foundation is based on the principals of honesty, integrity and respect. You can count on me to always be truthful, follow through with my commitments and uphold the “golden rule.”

One of my life mottos is to “work hard, play hard.” I feel my colleagues would describe me as just that. Someone who can hold their own in the industry and show professionalism across the board as well as a being a very personable, adventurous, optimistic person. I think that many of my peers can see that I have a good balance of fun and work in life. . When not working in my real estate business I enjoy snowboarding, wakeboarding in Utah or at the family cabin in Canada, golfing, four wheeling in Moab, rock climbing, and skydiving. One direct quote from a colleague taken directly off of LinkedIn is “Energy, fire-in-the-belly and just plain perseverance are all qualities Matt's got. He's a fast learner, motivated and trustworthy. I'd do business with Matt again, any time, and in a heart beat!”
